However to receive this external judgment at national level by the panel of experts is very pleasing indeed. I have always been confident that we offer a gold standard experience to our students. The outcome praised BGU, stating that: "Employability and enterprise skills are embedded throughout the student experience enabling students to acquire knowledge, skills and understanding that are most highly valued by employers" This is reflected in the fact that BGU is ranked third among UK universities for student employability.
This latest award confirms previous research that shows BGU graduates are some of the most employable in the UK. Their written statement praised BGU's "personalised approach with high quality support maximising retention, attainment and progression" and commented on the outstanding support that is available at BGU which ensures “that students from all backgrounds achieve excellent outcomes”. The Panel recognised and highlighted, BGU's strengths in all three elements of the TEF: teaching quality, the learning environment and student outcomes. It is the highest level of achievement and internationally recognised as a mark of quality. It is of the highest quality found in the UK.īGU is one of only a few Universities, from across the UK, to be awarded a Gold rating. It will give clear information to undergraduates about universities with the best teaching provision.Ī TEF Panel, made up of independent experts from across the country, judged that Bishop Grosseteste University delivers consistently outstanding teaching, learning and outcomes for its students. The TEF was introduced by the Government to build a new picture of excellence in teaching and learning in UK’s world-class higher education sector.
